(42) Speaking From The Soul

Reid Peterson of Life Changing Stories2014 was the most difficult year of my life. Career challenges and financial strains negatively impacted my self worth and belief that it was all happening for the greater good.

Though I did work with life and career coaches, I also did a lot of inner work through the production of this podcast. I put myself in a position to stretch my comfort zones, get out of my shell, and connect with others who are/have been going through hard times.

I’m lucky to write that at the time of this episode release, I’m in a much better place! I like where I work. I feel supported and appreciated for my gifts and talents.

However, by some wizardry way, I’m constantly in a “place” of expanding the influence I have on myself and others. This arises from the words I say. I’m now doing a daily practice of “Speaking From the Soul”. What that means is eliminating my brain from filtering what I say and how I say it, and more speaking words of truth- that I “feel” come from the areas of my chest and abdomen (the area where I would argue our soul to reside).

In this journey of speaking from the soul, I’m learning that it brings a more beneficial balance to life. I catch myself creating unnecessary stress and then stop myself from creating more.

It’s an awesome feeling and I intend to do more of it.

This podcast episode is the story of how I came to that realization:

You may want to listen to episode 4 also. This episode is a follow up to what was shared in that story.
